As everyone is aware, there was a large solar storm last week that caused a highly active aurora. I was out of town for the first couple of nights, but I was able to get out the last night. I spent the day on the road, and did not pre-plan locations, so I had to wing it and just find a spot as they started to fire off.
I ended up on the south shore of Lake Bemidji, as it is not too far from home, has plenty of opportunities to see the sky to the north, and anything in the foreground would have faint light from streetlights, parking lots, or buildings.
