The James Oberstar was entering Duluth in the early morning hours. First reports were to expect it to be arrive around 1am, but it actually made it to the entry around 7am. The sunrise was set for 735am, meaning Duluth’s city light would still be on.

I headed out well before sunrise, as the still conditions provided an opportunity to get some great drone photos of the entry. 21 photos stitched together created this panoramic view.

The Oberstar approaching the harbor. I had to fly out a bit over the water and use the 70mm (equivalent lens) to capture it at distance. Exposure is 1/10, f?2.8 @ ISO400.

The last image from the morning, the Oberstar is just about to sail below the Aerial Lift Bridge. Exposure .5 seconds, f/2.8 @ ISO200.
