Spring is starting to take hold in Northern MN, and the migratory birds have been making their way north. Lake Bemidji is opening, and the open water is attracting a number of ducks, geese, and loons. I was able to get out before the rain moved today to try and capture some photographs.

Most of the ducks were busy diving, looking for food. This one came up with a fish, swimming around for a bit almost showing it off. Exposure 1/2000, f/7.1 @ ISO1600.

A small group of these were coming in for a water landing, this one was leading the way, and I was able to get a few photos as it scurried across the water short after landing. Exposure 1/800, f/7.1 @ ISO1600.
