I was able to take a day away from work and make my way to the North Shore. There was a heavy snowstorm that ran through the state just a couple of days before. While the chances were low, I was hoping the ground would hold the snow long enough to make for some interesting images.

My first stop was Iona’s Beach for sunrise. The snow was non-existent on the shoreline, with just some remnants at the end of the trees. The view from Iona was kind of bland, but the cove on the way to it provided an opportunity for this image.
Exposure was 6 seconds, f/16 @ ISO 100

I worked down to Gooseberry Falls after Iona, hoping to catch the falls before the sun broke high enough to fill the gorge with sunlight. The snow had held on at lower falls, coating the rocks and providing great texture and form in the foreground.
The exposure was 1/30 second, f/16 @ ISO 100.
