Val and I took a long weekend to celebrate our latest anniversary. We headed towards Grand Marais to hike a few trails we have not done before. We spent the next two days working our way towards Duluth. We were able to catch a spattering of fall colors along trails near Lutsen and Ilgen City.

On our last hike was to Ely’s Peak, just south of Duluth. As the trail crested the rock formations on the last turn to the peak, we were presented a sea of gold.
