My Dad’s watch had the chronograph sitting at the 4 second mark instead of the 12 o’clock. I was going to take a look at it and see if it needed servicing, and figured while I was at it, I would try to photograph it being I am starting to tinker in photographing watches.
I staged the scene with rocks, to accent the band and overall design to take a handful of images. I needed to do a composite of those images to create the final version shown below.
The base exposure is .6 sec, f/4.0 @ ISO400. I used brief shine of a UV Flashlight to get the lume on the face to glow for one of the images stacked in post.
The chronograph was not broken. I learned that you could reset the chronograph manually, so it did not need to be sent in for service.
